BOXOLOGY®
Trauma-informed boxing education combining technical coaching, movement, mindset, and human connection.
Boxology was developed by Cathy Brown and Greg Williams in 2016 from a belief in the powerful impact boxing and movement can have on both physical and emotional wellbeing.
The programme was created to teach boxing correctly, responsibly, and with purpose — combining strong technical coaching with an understanding of mindset, confidence, emotional resilience, safeguarding, and human connection.
Delivered across the UK for almost a decade, Boxology® provides structured boxing education rooted in:
technical excellence
movement quality
coaching standards
injury prevention
physical wellbeing
and trauma-informed awareness.

Students are also supported through:
online manuals

and ongoing educational support.
HUMANITARIAN OUTREACH
Boxing as a tool for confidence, resilience, and empowerment.
Beyond the UK, Boxology® has supported humanitarian and trauma-informed outreach projects internationally.
In partnership with The Lotus Flower, Boxology® helped deliver a trauma-informed boxing coaching programme within a refugee camp in northern Iraq supporting women and girls affected by war, trauma, violence, and displacement.
Women within the camp were trained not only in boxing coaching, but in leadership, confidence, movement, and community empowerment — allowing the programme to continue sustainably within the camp after the initial project ended.
Boxology® has also supported trauma-informed movement and wellbeing workshops in Nepal alongside Raksha Nepal and Sustainable Himalayan Foundation.
PHILOSOPHY
Boxing can become more than sport.
At Boxology®, boxing is not simply viewed as physical training.
When taught responsibly and with the right coaching approach, movement can help individuals:
build confidence
reconnect with their bodies
strengthen emotional resilience
improve wellbeing
and feel part of a positive and supportive community.
The methodology supports coaching that is:
empowering
technically strong
safeguarding-aware
and focused on long-term wellbeing as well as physical development.
